Scholarship Amount: $250.00

Scholarship Background: The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois (AFFI) District 1 Scholarship Program/Triton College Foundation was created in 2022 by the Schiller Park Firefighters Local 5230. Over the last few years, there have been fewer and fewer students applying to achieve their EMT Basic and EMT Paramedic licenses due to increasing tuition fees. Currently, there are five AFFI unions funding these scholarships. Those five unions are: Schiller Park Firefighters Local 5230, Franklin Park Firefighters Local 1526, Norwood Park Firefighters Local 4210, Westchester Firefighters Union Local 4851 and Leyden Local 4329.
