Scholarship Background: Since its inception in 1994, the Marianjoy Scholarship Program has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships. Each year, Marianjoy proudly awards scholarships to students with disabilities to help them further their education, pursue opportunities for growth, explore new possibilities and achieve their dreams. Scholarship recipients are selected without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, or national origin, and have a permanent physical disability or functional impairment. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic merit, and career goals.

Criteria:

  • You have a permanent physical disability that may have resulted from: brain injury, muskoskeletal impairments, neuromuscular disoders, spinal cord injury, or stroke.
  • You are a former patient of Marianjoy (regardless of permanent residence) or you are a permanent resident in one of the following Illinois counties: Cook, Dekalb, Dupage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Will
  • You are a high school senior or graduate (diploma or GED certificate) or a college undergraduate
  • You are enrolled or plan to enroll in a half-time or part-time course of study at an accredited two- year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school
