Triton College Student Association Dr. Douglas Olson Leadership Award - Application Opens December 1st for next Fall

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:
A $1,500 one-time award to a graduating Triton College student is applied to the student’s tuition at his/her transferring institution. The scholarship check will be made payable to the institution where the recipient is enrolled.
OR
Tuition and fees (no lab fees) for up to 15 credit hours per semester at Triton College for one academic year. The scholarship is applicable for the immediate fall and spring (see renewal criteria below) semesters following the date of issuance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At the time of application, the student must be currently enrolled in at least six credit hours at Triton College and have a G.P.A. of 3.0
  • Must demonstrate a list of leadership accomplishments and service to the students at Triton College and the community
  • Exemplifies the mission statement of the Triton College Student Association
  • Demonstrates mentoring of other students
  • Actively recruits new members into student organizations
  • Participates in events sponsored by student organizations
  • An active member of more than one student organization
  • Recipient must remain in good academic standing by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 to receive the scholarship for the following semester
  • The student must submit the following to be considered for the scholarship:
    1) Required Essay – see topic below
    2) Resume which includes educational objectives
    3) Reference letters that document the above requirement

This scholarship will begin accepting applications on December 1st for next fall. Please mark your calendars to apply during the specified application period.
