Board Of Trustees Adult Education Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:
Covers up to 12 credit hours of in-district tuition which must be used within one academic year (mid August- June 30).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have attended either High School Equivalency (HSE) or English as a Second Language (ESL) classes offered by the Triton College’s Adult Education Department
    o HSE Students
  • pass the High School Equivalency Exam (GED, HiSET, TASC)
  • submit official certificate or other proof of passing
    o ESL Students
  • complete ESL Level 6 or GED 65/66.
  • possess either a high school diploma from their home country or a High School Equivalency Certificate (GED, HiSET, TASC).
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from an instructor
  • Submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words is required – see writing prompt below
  • Interview with the scholarship committee
  • Participate in the adult education department’s graduation ceremony
  • Scholarship must be used within the academic year (Sept. 1-June 30)
  • Students who have a GPA > 3.0 in the first year of coursework are eligible to apply for a second year scholarship

This scholarship will begin accepting applications on February 1st. Please mark your calendars to apply during the specified application period.
