GeoENgineering Innovations Through Undergraduate Scholarship (GENIUS) - Application Opens April 15th for Fall and September 15th for Spring

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:

  • Tuition, fees, books, and supplies up to $10,000 per year for a student enrolled full-time during the fall and spring terms, with a maximum limit of 72 credit hours paid by the scholarship.
  • Must complete at least 24 credit hours in 1 year with a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA to be eligible for renewal into the next academic year.
  • This scholarship program also includes tuition for up to one summer course
  • Participants of the Triton College GENIUS program are also eligible for the GENIUS scholarship at the Illinois Institute of Technology. This $25,000 per year tuition scholarship if available for Triton College GENIUS student who transfer to Illinois Tech in the semester following completion of coursework at Triton College. GENIUS program participants should join Illinois Tech’s FastForward Program a minimum of one year before transferring to Illinois Tech.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The Triton College Electronic Scholarship Application is accessed through the student portal. If you are not yet a Triton student, you have not been assigned access to the student portal. You may contact webadvisor@triton.edu and request access to the portal in order to complete the scholarship application. In your email, please include your name and date of birth to ensure accurate assignment of username and password. You may then sign in to the Triton College Electronic Scholarship Application using your student portal username and password.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a STEM area of study.
  • Candidates must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), complete the financial aid process at Triton College, and demonstrate an unmet need.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher from high school or college.
  • A one-page essay – see topic below.
  • A minimum of one letter of recommendation providing evidence of academic success or potential from a current or former an administrator, counselor, or teacher/instructor.

Award
In and out-of-district tuition, fees, books, and supplies for fall and spring semesters and one summer class up to $10,000 per year.
